I've been searching myself for the Holiday Barbie 2016 and I've gone to multiple stores, the ones I've actually found them sitting on the shelves are at my local K-Mart... and after watching the prices the last few months my only advice is, stick with the stores...
Right now K-Mart is selling them for $39.99... that might seem like a huge bump in price but if you go searching online, you will find a much steeper price. After watching and waiting, I've seen the prices stay at $39.99 and above, some even charging shipping instead of offering Free Shipping with the purchases, this means you'd be paying more then if you stopped at your local stores....
Another advantage is you can see your purchase and inspection it up front at the stores. Online has always been a risky buy when you are looking for something completely undamaged...
These particular barbies, with their new globe looking boxes, do have one small flaw. The bottoms easily damaged. They're not taped down like previous boxes which makes them much less secure.
When you go to the store, you can inspect the line of Barbies on display and pick the one you want without having to wonder, and that is what I personally did.
I have now the Blonde and Auburn 2016 Holiday Barbie on the shelves and both are in perfectly new condition.
If you are still waiting for a chance at a good price on these then I will let you know you may be waiting quite awhile (unless you get lucky with that special buy!!) K-Mart waits until close to the end of the Christmas season to put these on sale, along with Wal-Mart and you just never know what's actually 'left' to buy. I'm actually kind of expecting these to keep a nice price too because of how different they are. I mean, their are multiple color of dresses, new box design and even an addition to the name, 'The Peace Love and Hope Collection" I mean that says a lot and who knows if they'll stick to this chain, which would make these the first edition in the collection.
Only time will tell but in the meantime if you're looking to grab these beauties now, make sure you take a trip to your local store first!

Holiday Barbie 2016 is RELEASED - The Holiday Keepsake Collector Barbie
Wow, I'm not shocked at the design (as we all kind of expected these dresses) but the box is absolutely beautiful that she comes in...
That being said, it's not a BOX at all! It's a beautiful snow globe look! The first of the series to be put in a box like this needs recognition!
I have to say, I'm in love with the whole 2016 Holiday Barbie, the new name, "The Holiday Keepsake Collector Barbie" the design of her dresses, the colors and the box design, all beautiful and stunning! The perfect gift any little one who's in love with the Barbie collection would enjoy!
She stands out in the series in all directions and I'm excited to be putting in an order for all three designs!
I've seen they are available at Target for $39.99 so far, and I'm sure they'll be coming to K-Mart and Wal-Mart as well as other stores soon!
The special addition is being labelled (according to Target's website) as the 'Latina' design, and of coarse the African America and Blonde version are all available as well.
I really just can't get over the box, I'm sorry, Snow Globe, design! I'm excited to see what next year's design will hold because this 2016 design is a wonderful treat to behold!
If you have any questions, always feel free to ask here, have a great day everyone and enoy this years Holiday Barbie!

2016 Holiday Barbie Pictures Released!!
Although she's not on the shelves yet, the pictures have surfaced about the 2016 Holiday Barbie.
Originally, Mattel had placed these photos on their Facebook page, but then quickly removed them (or so I read) but they are confirmed the official 2016 Holiday Barbie...
Now, given that the Barbie hasn't 'ACTUALLY' been released, there may be some changes when it finally is released (which I'm expecting will be sometime in early or late July). I'm actually quite excited not to just see the classic Red, Green, Silver and Gold that they've been doing for the last 7 years... The last time I saw some 'color' aside from the classic Christmas colors was in the 2009 Holiday Barbie, where she was PINK. This time we have some really beautiful blues, and I assume the Brunette will be one of the 'special exclusive' releases to either K-Mart or Wal-Mart.
Now, I will admit, they look a bit more plain than I expected, but they certainly are a breath of fresh air! I am also very excited to see how they will do up the boxes this year for these beautiful Holiday Barbies. Given the variation of colors of their dresses I'm expecting either an all clear box like the 2009, or maybe a white box to fit each of them.
I will wait for the 'Final release' of the Barbies before adding her 'officially' to my list of Holiday Barbies, but it shouldn't be much longer before they go on sale (as they typically do in July).
As soon as they have them on the shelves, I'll make sure to let you all know here, happy hunting!

Happy Holiday Barbie Prices on the DECLINE
Up until about a year ago, the prices were pretty steady where they were, even for the oldest of the Holiday Barbie, however, these past few months have sparked a rise in sales, and a decline in sales.
This could be for a number a reasons, Barbie isn't as popular as it once was - it's completely out of season at the moment - no anniversary Holiday Barbies are due for release for awhile - take your pick, but the fact of the matter is the prices have had a sharp decline recently.
There are a few exceptions, such as the newest releases still are holding at a nice solid $25 to $50, and the Festival Barbie hasn't budged (but it's rarer then even Platinum release Barbies so it's price really can only increase at this point) but even the 1988, the first Holiday Barbie has dropped dramatically in price.
For people looking to buy, this is a GREAT opportunity to stock up on your collection, grab them while they're low! For sellers, however, this may be a good time to hold on to what you have and see what you can get out of it later if prices change, and they will change I can assure you of that.
As these prices have plummeted, they will again rise at some point. It just has to do with what is 'today's hot topic'. Next year all these prices can spike into new records high, it just depends on the company itself.
I've personally noticed, after collecting for these past many years, that the prices of the Holiday Barbies tend to sky rocket as Christmas approaches and just after it ends (Kind of feels like a 'duh' but sometimes the obvious escapes us all). I also notice the prices go up when an Anniversary doll is due to release. For example, the last Anniversary Holiday Barbie Barbie was the 2008, it was the 20 year release, (and in 2013 it was the 25 year anniversary but it didn't do as well as the 2008 one) so the next one due out will be the 30 year anniversary in 2018.
The 2009 Holiday Barbie was the 50th anniversary of the entire Matell series, the 75th anniversary will therefore be released in 2034 (feels like a long time, I know!) These will be big years for Matell and their Barbie releases and you can almost guarantee you will see people buying their collection releases.
Another way to see what their numbers may look like in the following years you have to see what else they're releasing, which you can do on their main Barbie Collection page, The Black and White series is a big one that they've been doing recently, beautiful Platinum series set that is usually released in the beginning of Summer, I had the opportunity to get my hands on the 3rd one in the series a few years back but they sold out in less than an hour, (and it would have been 10 minutes if they could have stopped the webpage from crashing). Sales were big for all of their Barbies after that one released and people have been looking for the 4th but they haven't announced it yet (they usually do on their collection page BEFORE the Barbie is actually released.
But again, for those looking for get the Barbies for their Holiday collection, best time to stock up! For those looking to sell, if you do than just be aware the prices are low and you may get very little out of them if you're not patient to wait at least until the Holiday season comes around again which is when the prices are most likely to rise, even a little.
Good luck and happy bargain hunting!

Still no hint of a 2016 Holiday Barbie yet
I have been searching, but given that it's April 2016 still, I didn't have high expectations about finding anything.
I have found a few pictures of a certain 'Holiday' Barbie, one in Silver and Purple, but even though I can find no mention of her from Matell themselves, and it seems very plausible that she is the Holiday Barbie 2016, I'm not entirely sure. For this reason I won't share the pictures I've discovered, but if I do, in fact, learn that she IS the 2016 Holiday Barbie, I will be sure to make the post here.
The one thing that makes me weary is a little ornament she carries that says 25... although the series has been around for at least 25 years, that would not be this year, it would have been 2013's release.
So again, just updating I'm still here, I promise and I'm still searching, but for now there is no change.
I have been watching the sales even for the 2015 Holiday Barbie and they still stand pretty high as the day they were sold off the shelves. I'm surprised to be honest to see it has not fallen into the $10 range, but in fact, she is still a popular year, but again that may change as time goes on this year and after this coming Christmas her numbers should stay about the same and then we'll know for sure where her value stands!

Sales time!!
Once again it's that time of year, where everything dies down as far as prices....
Most of you probably already notice that this happens, not only in the Barbie world, but everywhere....
After Christmas, the stores care concerned about one thing - getting rid of their stock as FAST AS POSSIBLE to make room for the new upcoming Holidays, like Valentine's Day and Easter... So it's DEALS DEALS DEALS everywhere.
This is a great chance to look for those 2015 Holiday Barbies on Sale at K-Mart, Target and Wal-Mart, they are literally trying to GIVE these Barbies away so check their clearance areas if you're still searching for your collectible!
If you're unsuccessful in finding your 2015 Holiday Barbie, there's always places like eBay, but be warned, this is the time of year where people ARE looking for them, and depending on how well they sold in the store, how many are available now, you may find a fantastic deal OR you may end up finding out that they're twice as much as what they were in the store when they were first released...
So far, as of today (February 7th 2016) The regular Barbies are going between $20 - $30 on eBay from what I've been able to see, the Auburn/Brunette (They label her as Brunette but her hair sure does seem to have a red tint to it don't you think?) is running between $50 - $60... and that's WITHOUT the extra added shipping cost which almost every seller charges.
So keep your eyes open for those deals, especially the Auburn/Brunette K-Mart Exclusive!
I was expecting Wal-Mart to carry their own exclusive but it didn't happen this year, so 2015 ends with a short and sweet 3 versions of the 2015 Holiday Barbie!!
Happy Shopping everyone!!
